Join Us for Simbang Gabi: A Beautiful Tradition of Advent
Dear Parish Family,
We invite you to join us for the beloved tradition of Simbang Gabi—a nine-day novena of dawn Masses, as we prepare our hearts for the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This beautiful Filipino custom is a time of prayer, reflection, and anticipation, leading us closer to the joy of Christmas.
After each Mass, we invite you to stay for fellowship in the Community Hall.
What is Simbang Gabi?
Simbang Gabi, which means “Night Mass” in Filipino, has been celebrated for centuries. The nine-day novena originated in the Philippines as a way to prepare for the coming of Christ. Traditionally, these Masses were held early in the morning so farmers could attend before starting their long day in the fields. The custom continues to be a vibrant expression of faith bringing people together to await the arrival of our Savior.
We are so blessed to share this tradition with you and hope you will join us each morning from December 16 to December 24. Simbang Gabi.
All are welcome!
With joy and gratitude,
The Samahang Filipino,
Most Holy Trinity Church
