Pastor’s Weekly Reflection

Dear Most Holy Trinity Family:
The portrait of Jesus as the Good Shepherd is one of the earliest historical depictions of Christ. The Good Shepherd renders a caring and protective pastor. When danger comes, the Good Shepherded does not abandon his flock. He stays and is willing to lay down his life for them. Jesus has come so that we might have life. If we choose life, He is the gate for us to enter through, not only for ourselves, but for others as well. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, is the antithesis of those who seek to abuse, exploit, and mislead the flock by lying to them. These are hopeful signs, but we need to be always proactive in making our parish community hospitable to children, youth, adults, and to those who may have walked away from us feeling hurt or uncared for. Being open, hospitable, and welcoming is the task of good shepherding.
