Pastor’s Weekly Reflection

Dear Most Holy Trinity Family:
This weekend the readings speak about a change of course. In the first reading, one person takes a different path, and in the Gospel, another person has a change of mind.
Change is difficult. It is often difficult to leave something behind to take up a different path. It is not easy to leave something behind that seems comfortable for something that makes us feel uncomfortable. Changing course is difficult, but at times, necessary. As a Church and parish community, we need to be open to change to allow the Holy Spirt to guide and renew us. Otherwise, we may do things only out of self-interest.
I want to thank those involved in planning our Oct. 4th Sunday Fun Day MHT family event. This event is not a festival as it was being planned because we saw the need to change the direction and purpose of the event. Cultural entertainment and finger food will be available for children and adults for a suggested donation to cover the expenses, but the event is not intended for profit. Again, I am grateful to the organizing team, to those who bought raffle tickets, and to those of you attending the event to build up the spirt of community, collaboration, and solidarity across culture communities.
