Applications and payment of registration can begin at any time but have to be received by the end of August.

If the child is not baptized, all three sacraments are received during the Easter Vigil.

The sacraments that the child prepares for are received together.

  • The child’s Birth Certificate for all three sacraments.
  • For First Communion and/or Confirmation we need the certifications of the previous sacraments.
  • The family should be registered at Most Holy Trinity by the time of application.
  • Parents and children are expected to participate at every Saturday/Sunday Mass.
  • Parents are the primary teachers of the Faith, and so are required to attend every session with their children to support their faith formation. OCIC requires full and active participation from the parents.
  • From December until the Easter Vigil, at least one sponsor/godparent needs to attend every session with the child.
  • The Rites are for the child’s growth in their Christian journey. Every candidate and sponsor must participate in each Rite and its corresponding rehearsal.
  • The child will benefit greatly if they serve in a ministry at Most Holy Trinity after receiving a Sacrament. Altar boys/girls are always needed.
  • What will my child learn?

The program to receive all three sacraments is two-year preparation process that covers the essentials of the Catholic Faith: the Nicene Creed, the Seven Sacraments, the role of the Church in God’s plan of salvation, the 10 Commandments, an explanation of the Holy Mass, a study of the Old and New Testaments, and a guide to living a life founded on Christian morality.

  • Catechesis is offered every week from September – May on Sundays from 10:45am-12:15 pm in English.
  • Parents must attend each session with their children. You are their primary educators and your presence gives credibility to the program. Families are asked not to miss more than three excused sessions.
  • The preparation to receive First Communion takes two years.

  • Year 1: Students will learn the basics about Jesus, the Church, Community and Moral Values.
  • Year 2: Students will learn about the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation), Reconciliation, Eucharist, the Creed.
  • First Communion candidates will attend a half day retreat at the Most Holy Trinity campus. A check-in interview with the Director should be scheduled beforehand. The students should be accompanied by a parent or sponsor and participate in the weekly parent sessions. Parents are encouraged to support by providing lunch, snacks, water, donations, etc.
  • First Communion takes place on a Sunday during the Easter season.
  • Catechesis is offered every week from September – May on Sundays from 10:45am-12:15 pm in English.

  • Preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation takes two years. Children age 13 or 8th grade must have already received First Holy Communion (age 13 before December 31)

Confirmation incorporates us more firmly into Christ, strengthens our bond with the Church and her mission, and helps us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Year 1/Track A: students will cover such topics as: the basics of Catholicism, Jesus and discipleship, the Creed, the Commandments, the Church and her Mission, Prayer and Sacraments, Moral Values, exploration of the Bible, and Social Justice. They will be asked to participate in activities geared towards social services, helping the poor, serving at the Food Pantry etc.

Year 2/Track B: the candidates will participate in the sacramental life of the parish and engage with their peers by sharing their faith, reaffirming their cultural background, integrating what they say and what they do. The candidate will learn different forms of prayer and experience God’s presence through service to others.

Confirmation Track A & Track B are offered every Sunday from September – May in English from 3:30pm – 6:30pm (concluding with Mass).

All second year confirmation students need to attend a yearly retreat.
