History of MHT
Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church was founded in 1961 as a parish of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. The first pastor was Father Thomas Bowe. In 1981, the Vatican partitioned off the southern part of the Archdiocese of San Francisco to create the Diocese of San Jose, in which MHT resides.
In 1992, The Society of Jesus (The Jesuits) was charged with the care of MHT when the Diocese of San Jose made Saint Joseph Church the Cathedral of the Diocese. The Jesuits had administered Saint Joseph Church for 141 years, from 1851 to 1992, until they were transferred to MHT.
