Sacrament of Baptism

Welcome to Most Holy Trinity Church! This is how to prepare for the Sacrament of Baptism for children under 7 years old.

If your child is between 7-17 click here.

If you are an adult, click here.

Please plan for the Baptism of your child (under 7 years old) as early as possible. The process takes about two months, including gathering all required documents, completing a baptismal preparation class and meeting with a priest/deacon.

If you are not a registered parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church, we invite you to sign-up. If you are registered at another parish, please obtain the signed permission from your pastor to be baptized here.

  • For the Child: Official Birth Certificate (issued by the County where the child was born).
  • Single Godparents: Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation Certificates.
  • Married Godparents: All of the above plus the Catholic Marriage Certificate.
  • You may obtain the Sacramental Certificates from the either the church where they were celebrated or the church of your Baptism. If it is impossible to secure the documents, we will need an affidavit letter (a sworn statement), signed by a priest from your parish, stating that you received your Sacraments.

  • The Parish Office will schedule an appointment for the parents to meet with one of our priests/deacons. Godparents DO NOT need to attend.
  • The contribution is $75.00 for registered parishioners, $100.00 for non-registered parishioners.
  • English and Spanish Baptism Classes are offered the Third Sunday of the month from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm in the Trinity Center Community Room. Registration for the classes close on the Wednesday before the date of the class.
  • If you have certificate from a previous Baptism preparation class, please check the expiration date. You may waive this requirement if it is still valid.
  • If the godparents are not local, they should contact their parish to register for a preparation class. We accept certificates from any Catholic church.

  • Godparent Requirements:

    • Only one Godparent is needed. If there are two, one must be male and the other female.
    • Godparents must be at least 16 years old, received Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation, and if married, be married in the Catholic Church. A Godparent should be a practicing Catholic who lives in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
