Ignatian Spirituality Center of Most Holy Trinity Church invites you to:
Come and Meet Jesus: The 19th Annotation
It refers to a specific way of experiencing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, designed for people who cannot go on a full-time retreat.
What is it?
St. Ignatius originally envisioned the Spiritual Exercises as a 30-day silent retreat. However, in his introduction (or “annotations”), he offered alternative ways to adapt the retreat for different situations. The 19th Annotation is one of these adaptations often called the “retreat in daily life.”
Key Features of the 19th Annotation Retreat:
- Takes place over several months
- The retreatant continues with daily life (work, family, etc.).
- Requires a commitment to daily prayer using specific Ignatian meditations and Scripture.
- Intended for people who want to deepen their relationship with God but cannot step away from their life responsibilities.
